Edinburgh Day 4 (8/1)
And the late carousing from the previous night, speaking for myself…was a bit of a problem. At least today is our last morning while we’re in country. After not quite enough sleep, and a quick breakfast, those of us in the actors house assembled to walk the half hour into town for a brush up rehearsal hosted at our producer’s flat.
The weather was beautiful again, and the walk into town took us on a slightly new route, allowing us to see one of the large posters for the show that are set up around the city. We also popped into a coffee shop that turned out to be a joy - good coffee, eclectic vibe, and cozy spaces. Definitely can recommend Bastard Barista in EDI.
The brush up rehearsal went well, and we learned that the changes we made between DC Fringe and here had the effect we wanted, and by noon we were released, with the entire remainder of the day on our own. I chose to wander back to the actor house to chill and workout.
People were in-and-out of our home base, including the arrival of our swing, who we welcomed and helped get settled. We followed a chill afternoon in the house with a trip out to a pub dinner in Leith. We ended up at a cool spot called the Lioness of Leith, and were pleasantly surprised to finds another really eclectic spot, that also had a solid vegan and GF menu.
Dinner acquired, we stopped at a grocery store (first bottle of scotch procured), and then impulsively stopped into another pub on the way home - this one with live music (it was a very season 1 Ted Lasso vibe, if that makes sense). After a drink, at least I was fading, and we headed back home to wind down and get ready for opening night tomorrow!
