Edinburgh Day 15 (8/12)
After a routine start to the day, things began to get auspicious. I was walking toward the gym down by the Foot of the Walk and came upon one of the local buses that had just been in an accident and had a real nasty smashed windshield.
Then, half-way through my workout, as I was returning to the space after using the restroom, I entered to find a fellow lifter down on the ground screaming, after suffering an injury while doing snatches (we *think* a dislocated elbow…). Several of us in the gym helped him up and to get as comfy as we could make him while he awaited an ambulance ride to the doc.
Then the real ball dropped - we got word that one of our band mates had tested positive for COVID.
The team went into Get S#!t Done mode, and rapidly everyone got tests and the decision was made to cancel our shows on Monday and Tuesday while we continued to test and see exactly what our situation was, with the hope to be back onstage Wednesday. I had been exposed some to the band member who was positive, so I went into essentially isolation while in the house. The rest of the day passed nervously and quiet with this unfortunate cloud of uncertainty hanging over the rest of our week.
